ALLERGY STATEMENT

Menu items may contain or come into contact with WHEAT/GLUTEN, EGGS, PEANUTS, SHELLFISH, FISH, CHICKEN, BEEF, PORK, TREE NUTS, SOY, MILK or other allergens.  

While we take cautions to minimize the risk of cross contamination, we cannot guarantee that any of our products are safe to consume for people with allergies. Customers concerned with food allergies need to be aware of this risk. Umberto’s will not assume any liability for adverse reactions to food consumed, or items one may come in contact with while eating our products.

GLUTEN: At Umberto’s, we make every effort to identify ingredients that may cause allergic reactions for those individuals with food allergies. Some items can be made gluten friendly and are made with no gluten-containing ingredients, but this is a pizzeria and we work with flour. Despite all of our efforts flour dust can cross contaminate other products, therefore, people with true severe gluten allergies cannot be accommodated safely. 

Every effort is made to instruct our food production staff on the severity of food allergies. However, there is always a risk of cross-contamination. There is also a possibility that manufacturers of the commercial foods we use could change the formulation at any time, without notice. We work to keep this information as up-to-date as possible, and request you check our allergen information and inform us of your allergy each time you dine with us.

Because all of our dishes are prepared-to-order, our normal kitchen operations may involve shared cooking and preparation areas. Please be aware that we also use common fryer oil, we have one common grill, and common pizza ovens are used to prepare many items in our restaurant. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that any menu item can be completely free of allergens. Items cooked on our grill, in the pizza ovens, or in our fryer present a special risk for cross-contamination, so please consider this before dining with us.

Even with processes and procedures in place, we are mindful that we are not an allergen-free facility. As such, we cannot guarantee that any item is completely free of any allergen. While we regret that this may disappoint some guests, we feel strongly about being transparent about what we can and cannot guarantee.
